Kansai Plascon has donated all required paint for the refurbishment of the Tooro kingdom palace ahead of the 30th coronation anniversary of the Omukama Rukirabasaija Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
The paint, worth Shs 65m, is to ensure that the palace regains its majestic look ahead of the celebrations scheduled for September 12, 2025. Santosh Gumte, the Plascon managing director, handed over the paint and stated that; “Plascon is proud to be associated with Tooro kingdom and to paint the palace, and this is part of our commitment to maintain cultural institutions and preserve heritage.”
“Our team of painters will also travel to the palace to ensure that the work is completed on time with professionalism. Our support for cultural and religious institutions stems from the deep conviction in the role they play in the preservation of our morals, the upliftment of our people and the progress of society as a whole.”
Meanwhile, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire, the kingdom prime minister, thanked Plascon for maintaining a good relationship with the kingdom and for supporting other activities such as the Amasaza tournament, in which the company sunk Shs 50m this year.
Also present at the handover were Henry Basaliza, the Tooro kingdom deputy prime minister, Plascon head of marketing Daniel Kayongo and Plascon head of sales Moses Kato.
