MTN and CBS signed a 3-year partnership

MTN Uganda and Central Broadcasting Service (CBS FM) have signed a three-year partnership aimed at promoting cultural participation, audience engagement and business opportunities within communities.

Under the Tukula Ffena (“We all grow together”) partnership, MTN Uganda becomes the official sponsor of Entanda and Enkuuka, two of CBS’s established cultural programmes that bring people together through Buganda’s heritage, traditions, knowledge and celebrations.

A key addition to the partnership is the Entanda Corporate Edition, which will provide businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Buganda, with an opportunity to participate in the programme, engage with audiences and contribute to the kingdom’s outreach activities in partnership with MTN.

MTN Uganda chief executive officer Sylvia Mulinge said the partnership reflects a shared ambition to create opportunities and strengthen connections across communities.

She said Entanda and Enkuuka provide important platforms for cultural learning, participation and celebration, adding that MTN was looking forward to supporting their growth while exploring opportunities to use connectivity and digital services to strengthen cultural engagement and expand audience access.

The partnership builds on the wider relationship between MTN Uganda, MTN Mobile Money (MoMo), CBS and the Buganda Kingdom. Previous initiatives have included road safety awareness campaigns and fundraising for the Accident, Injury and Trauma Centre at Nkozi Hospital through the Kaliisoliiso Dinner initiative.

CBS managing director Michael Kawooya Mwebe said combining the broadcaster’s reach with MTN’s communications infrastructure and digital capabilities would create opportunities for young people and women, support wealth creation and help preserve Buganda’s cultural heritage through digital platforms.
