Mohammed Kitaka who shot at a moving taxi and injured a 12-year-old boy has been apprehended.

Kitaka shot into the taxi at around 9:25 pm on December 31, 2024, in Kyebando, Kawempe Division – injuring Edrine Babalanda who was seated next to his father, Moses Babalanda.

Robert Nsubuga, the taxi driver, said he was taking passengers to Kasangati and Gayaza when Kitaka, driving a Toyota Harrier, reg no. UBQ 699B fired two bullets into their taxi.

“I stopped the taxi and asked him why he was shooting at us. He told me he was shooting at thieves who wanted to steal from him. I told him he had injured one of my passengers. He then drove off to an unknown destination,” Nsubuga said.

Nsubuga later reported the case to Kanyanya police station as the victim’s father rushed him to a nearby clinic which also transferred him to Mulago hospital. Thereafter, security agencies decided to conduct a joint hunt for the driver who was arrested on Friday with the help of CCTV cameras.

Patrick Onyango, Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson said police have preferred charges of attempted murder on Kitaka because he fled the scene after the incident.

  1. What is the matter with some Moslems in these modern times. Islam started in Mecca, in modern-day Saudi Arabia, during the time of the prophet Muhammad during the 7th century as a newer religion of hope and non violence for humanity!

For Africans who have only taken over this religion recently, why are they putting forward military armaments to emphasise their faith? Why did this young rich man of UPDF driving an expensive car, not stop the taxi and call in the police to seach for theives in this public transport vehicle?

  2. Bro, what has the person’s character got to do with his religion. Have the religious leaders taken his action as a matter of faith.

Some people are so obsessed with nothing. Does Kony’s actions be attributed to religion? Style up brother
