As the festive season envelops us in its warm embrace, we at The Observer wish to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to you—our loyal readers, advertisers, advisers, whistleblowers, and human rights defenders.

Your unwavering support has been the wind beneath our wings, guiding us through the storms and challenges of the past year.

This Christmas, we reflect on the journey we’ve shared. Your feedback, criticism and encouragement have made us better sailors on the tumultuous seas of journalism. We are immensely grateful for your commitment to making leaders accountable and for believing in our mission to be a reliable voice for the community.

To those who may have strayed from the path of goodness, especially within our security services, we urge you to embrace the spirit of the season. Let the philosophy of treating others as you wish to be treated resonate in your hearts. This nation is vast and can accommodate us all if we choose kindness and integrity.

For civil and public servants who have misappropriated public funds, we call upon you to take this time for reflection. Christmas is a season of repentance and renewal, a chance to mend your ways and contribute positively to our society.

While The Observer will take a brief pause on Christmas day, we eagerly anticipate returning on January 1, 2025, equipped with a revitalized website (www.observer.ug) and fresh content to better serve you in the new year. We are committed to addressing past shortcomings and enhancing the quality of our reporting.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey. We wish you a joyous Christmas filled with love, peace and hope. Here’s to a brighter future together in 2025!

  1. One hopes your journal will continue accepting the modern social INTERATIONS and OBSERVATIONS with the public especially over the issue of the freedom of social media expression.

Many African people are still struggling to obtain universal education because it is expensive. It must be a very happy Christmas and a Happy New Year indeed, because modern social media technology seems to have come forward to greatly educate humanity in many ways and enhance universal human rights on planet earth!
