TECNO made a strong showing at IFA 2026 in Berlin, unveiling a new lineup of smartphones, laptops and smart devices while securing two IFA Global Product Technology Innovation Gold Awards.
The Chinese technology company showcased a range of new and concept devices, from an award-winning modular smartphone and a compact gaming PC to a 0mm bezelless concept phone and new 360-degree laptops.
The TECNO Modular Phone won the Ultra-Slim Magnetic Modular Technology Innovation Gold Award, while the Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS (MEGA MINI G1 Pro) received the Miniaturized Gaming PC Technology Innovation Gold Award.
Two innovations take top IFA honours
The TECNO Modular Phone was recognised for its ultra-slim design and magnetic modular technology. At just 4.9mm thick, the device uses a precision magnetic system supported by pogo-pin connectors, allowing users to attach different hardware modules.
TECNO says the approach gives the smartphone greater flexibility while challenging conventional ideas about the design and functionality of mobile devices.
The company said the Modular Phone has already received more than 20 awards and recognitions from international technology publications, including CNET, Android Authority, Yanko Design and The Verge.
The second IFA Gold Award went to the Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS (MEGA MINI G1 Pro), a compact gaming PC designed to combine a small form factor with high-performance computing.
The device features an Intel Core i9-13900HK processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics, water cooling and 15 ports, including OCuLink and USB4.
Phone without a visible black border
One of the major attractions at TECNO’s IFA booth was the Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone, which offers a glimpse into the company’s vision for future smartphone design.
The concept features a claimed 0mm display border, eliminating the visible black strip normally found between the screen and the phone’s frame.
The result is a display that appears to extend seamlessly to the edges of the handset, creating a more immersive viewing area for gaming, video, photography and reading.
TECNO says the design was made possible by advances in internal component stacking, structural engineering and screen-packaging technology.
The concept also attracted the attention of technology creator Marques Brownlee, who had an early hands-on experience with the device and described it as “kind of surreal.”
Beyond its visual appeal, TECNO says technologies developed for the concept could contribute to future advances in areas including cameras, touch interaction, audio and intelligent user interfaces.
