Edward Nassamba: He joined SC Villa from UCB and was always Polly Ouma’s first-choice goalkeeper in the side. He moved to Spear Motors in 1990 but sadly died on February 28, 1992.

Anacitus Serwanga: He was a reserve goalkeeper signed from Mbarara in 1983. He featured in three games, including the one against KCC in 1989 where the club lost its unbeaten run. He lives in Kampala.

Yusuf Ssonko: He was signed from KCC in 1984. The tenacious right full back swapped SC Villa for Express in 1988 but in 1990, he relocated to Eng- land where he lives to date.

John Jumba: His experience and versatility in defense was a key to this side and it’s the reason why SC Villa paid highly to sign him from Coffee. JJ, as he was popularly known, retired from football in 1988 and turned to private business. He passed on some years back.

Paul Hasule: The ultra-competetive defender retired from football in November 1993 after a hugely successful 11 years at Villa Park. He captained this side for eight years, winning almost everything there is. He turned to coaching and guided Villa to six major titles. He died on April 26, 2004.

Geoffrey Higenyi: He was the club’s left back having joined the Villa Park side in 1983 from Nytil FC. After suffering a couple of injuries, Higenyi quit football and turned to coaching. He later returned to his native Butaleja.

George Otto: He was an active soldier before joining SC Villa in 1986 from relegated Simba FC. The legendary defender returned to Resistance FC in 1989 but moved to England in 1990 where he stays to date.

Joseph Dramiga: Another soldier who was signed from Simba FC in 1986. The central midfielder left Villa in 1989 and returned to Resistance (changed from Simba FC). He deserted NRA in 1990 and relocated to England but he passed away some years back.

Sam Mubiru: He joined Villa from Maroons in 1982 and became the club’s skipper in 1985. His mobility and pace was a key in Villa’s midfield. However, he left SC Villa in 1988 and retired from football. He lives in Kampala.

Twaha Kivumbi: He was signed from Pepsi FC in 1984 and immediately drafted into the starting line-up where he stayed for years. He scored in the 2-0 win against Tobacco in the Uganda Cup final to guide Villa for the second title. He left Villa in 1992 and relocated to Canada.

Sula Kato: He was signed from Masaka Union in 1984. He was a mainstay in the double-winning side, playing in a couple of positions. He completed the scoring in the 1986 Uganda Cup final as they defeated Tobacco. He left Villa in 1994 and he lives in Kyengera.

Rogers Nsubuga: The slippery striker joined Villa as a teenager from Lubaga SS in 1981. His 17 goals were vital for the club’s successful season. He left Villa in 1988 and relocated to England.

Majid Musisi: He was 18 years when he joined SC Villa from Pepsi FC in 1985. He became a cult hero at Villa Park scoring goals just for fun. He left the Villa Park side in July 1992 and joined the paid ranks in France. He passed away on December 13, 2005.

Godfrey Kateregga: His superb goal against KCC FC in a 5-1 win endeared him to the club’s faithful. The left back had swapped KCC for SC Villa in 1985. In 1988, he moved to Express. He died on March 13, 1999.

Sunday Mokiri: He featured in some games as a reserve left winger but his goal scoring abilities were amazing. He left Villa in 1990 and had spells at Spear Motors before he died some time back.

Moses Kasita: The midfielder, along with Issa Kawooya and George Muwanguzi, joined the club from second-tier side Lint FC in 1984. He was used sparingly; he left Villa for Coffee in 1988 but he later died.
