In the buildup to the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations, Nile Special has unveiled a campaign to take 23 Cranes fans to Gabon.

The campaign was launched yesterday by Samuel Hooper, the Nile Special brand manager.

He revealed that the 23 lucky fans will be got through bar and digital activations. It is this core group that the brand refers to as the official Cranes 23-man fans squad.

“On the day Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic unveils his final 23-man squad, there will also be an announcement of the official Cranes 23-man fans squad. That’s the concept behind our campaign. But in total, Nile Special will be sending a 30-man team. The extra seven will include the support team for the 23-man fans squad,” he said.

“We want a strong representation in Gabon both on pitch and in the stands.”

Meanwhile, the company also plans to set up three fan parks in Jinja, Mbarara and Lira as a way of replicating the stadium atmosphere. There will also be activations in several outlets in Kampala on Uganda’s match days.
