Chris Kalama: The youthful custodian was the first choice goalkeeper. His agility and towering frame were key to the Red Eagles’ explosive season. He currently lives in Gulu city.
Richard Tushabe: He was signed from State House FC in 1991 but he spent the entire 1993 season as reserve goalkeeper. He stays in Entebbe.
George Ssimwogerere: He was the leader as well as the team captain. The centre half had joined Express in 1988 from Gomba Motors. He left Express in 2001 and turned to coaching, he lives in Lukuli.
Isaac Nkaada: The club legend joined the club in 1984 from Kyabadaza FC. His vast experience and solid defending helped the Red Eagles to win the title. He hung up his boots shortly after that season. He lives in Kabowa.
Kennedy Lubogo: The Left footed defender cum midfielder was signed from Kakomo FC in 1988. He was a regular in the starting 11. He stays at Kikubampanga, Kakiri.
Edward Kalungi: The right fullback was spotted from Kololo High School in 1992 and became a mainstay in the team. He works with the local federation (Fufa).
Phillip Obwin: The dependable box-to-box player was recruited from Owino Hot Stars in 1992 and was consistent throughout the campaign. He lives in Kampala.
Richard Kirumira: The left-footed defender was spotted from Lubiri SS in 1988 and became an assured starter in this side. He is currently based in England.
Simon Kyobe: The lanky midfielder was snapped up in 1992 from Miracle Centre. He was regular in the entire campaign. He relocated to the USA.
Rogers Mutebi: The hard-tackling defender was signed from Buikwe-Nytil United in 1992. He was a versatile defender who was fielded in a number of defensive positions. He retired from
Express and he owns a school at Lusaka-Makindye.
Robert Aloro: He was signed from Nsambya FC in 1990 and was one of the standout performers of the title-winning side, scoring 11 goals. A nagging knee injury ended his career in 1995, he works with URA.
Fred Tamale: An immensely-talented attacker moved from Bell in 1993. He scored 12 goals in this campaign. He works with Uganda Breweries.
Issa Sekatawa: The veteran striker was used sparingly due to injuries which limited him to three goals. The three-time league top scorer quit football immediately after the season. He lives in Kampala.
Robert Tenywa: He was signed from Entebbe Young and was largely used as a ‘dangerous’ substitute. The highlight of his season was the brace against KCC in the 6-0 rout. He quit football and he lives in Bugiri.
James Kirinya: He was signed from Roko FC in 1988 and quickly drafted into the first team. The winger spent six years at Express. He has since passed on.
Joseph Mutyaba: The midfielder was recruited from Entebbe Works in 1992 and greatly elevated his game that season. His intensity and scoring abilities made Express a top club. He turned to coaching after retirement.
Davis Odowa: He was signed from Green Valley in 1992 and became a lethal striker. He has since passed on.
Andrew Arinaitwe: The striker was signed from Mbarara FC. He was a trusted striker whose goals made Express dominant. He quit football in 1998 and turned to private business in Kampala.
Jackson Nyima: The flying left winger was signed from Nytil in 1991 and became a darling of the club’s faithful due to his pace on the left wing. He quit football and works with Fufa.
Kefa Kisala: He was recruited from Military Police FC in 1992. His pace and dribbling skills opened spaces for strikers. He is an active football coach.
Other key players: Abu Kigenyi, Stephen Kazoora, Herbert Kamya, Abdul Nsubuga, William Makumbi, Francis Luggya, Kassim Katumba and Benson Maseruka
