KCCA FC striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma scored in his club’s 1-0 win over The Saints in Mwererwe last Friday.

This helped the defending champions maintain a 100 percent record in the second round of the Uganda Premier League (UPL). With three wins in three league games, KCCA travel to South Africa for the first round of the Caf Champions League, to face the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in boisterous mood.

However, before that clash this weekend in Pretoria, KCCA play a friendly game against the University of Pretoria (Pretoria Tuks) FC to fine tune on Tuesday.

KCCA coach Mike Mutebi said, “Save for the 1-2 loss to D’Agosto in the preliminary round, we have generally been playing well, and scoring goals. So, facing Sundowns is an exciting challenge.”

It is one to look forward to without any fear, but respect for a more experienced side, Mutebi said after his team’s hard-earned win over The Saints. A friendly game against Pretoria Tuks is good preparation to give KCCA a feel of what kind of play Sundowns will bring.

Although KCCA beat The Saints, they did not have the best of games. And understandably so, Okot said the playing surface did not favour them to play their fluid football.

Meanwhile, UPL continues at various grounds tomorrow. And the biggest focus will be on the new URA FC coach Ibrahim Kirya. He takes charge of his first game against Sadolin Paints FC at Namboole stadium.

With URA losing to Sadolin 1-2 in Lugazi in the first round, rewriting that fits well in Kirya’s mission to revive URA to the consistently winning side they used to be.

Kirya said that at his unveiling last Wednesday. And after they beat Lweza 2-0 last Tuesday under interim coach James Odoch, building on that is the least expected.
