SC Villa slipped four points behind champions KCCA FC in the Azam-sponspored Uganda Premier League (UPL) after failing to tame stubborn Bright Stars last evening, reports JOHN VIANNEY NSIMBE.
Bright Stars held SC Villa to a goalless draw as KCCA FC beat Bul 2-0 to open up a four-point advantage on top of the UPL standings.
Going into the match at Mwererwe, SC Villa had bolstered their squad with the return of striker Emmanuel Okwi and addition of Wasswa Bbosa to the coaching bench. However, the pair’s presence did not save the record 16-time league champions.

Okwi played the entire game but there was nothing to write home about his exploits on the evening. On the other hand, KCCA maintained their 100 percent record at home this season with 2-0 victory at Phillip Omondi stadium.
Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Muzamir Mutyaba netted for the defending champions. The victory is a timely boost for coach Mike Mutebi’s side who kick off their Caf Champions League campaign against Angola’s Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto this Friday.
Uganda’s other continental representatives, Vipers SC also warmed up with a 2-0 victory over Lweza as they prepare for Caf Confederations Cup duty against Club de Moroni of Comoros on Saturday.
