The Pepsi University Football League (UFL) returns today Friday, February 14 with ISBAT hosting the Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU) in a must-win match for the hosts at Kayanya playground.
ISBAT coach Edwin Haumba says his team needs to find their form after a poor start to the season. Haumba’s team is bottom of the table after losing their first three games without scoring and conceding five goals so far.
“We need to cover ourselves but it seems to be late; we need to win as a motivation factor for the team,” Haumba said.
He added: “The break came in at a good time for us to redeem ourselves as things weren’t working properly for us.
“It is important that everyone understands that this game is very important. We must go and give everything and look for the victory.  We have prepared for the game. This is a final for us. We are in a tight group. IUIU is a very good team. We have tried to work for the whole week. We are ready to start the game and we hope Lady Luck will be at our side.”
For IUIU’s Haruna Kebba, this game presents a chance for his team to progress from the group stage. For the past seasons, the visitors haven’t progressed past the group stages due to poor results on the road
“Last season we failed to make it out of the group stage partly because of these games where we failed to win away from home,” Haruna Kebba said.
