At least three police officers and four civilians were injured during a violent confrontation in Kangole town council, Napak district, on Friday night.
The incident occurred around 11:00 pm when police officers on patrol approached a group of people who were playing loud music and campaigning in the area. According to police, the violence erupted after officers ordered the crowd to disperse and stop the music, citing that it was beyond the permitted time.
The crowd allegedly turned hostile and began pelting stones at the officers, injuring several. In response, the police fired live bullets into the air in an attempt to disperse the group.
Mike Longole, Mt. Moroto Regional police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said that four civilians were injured by stray bullets during the confrontation. He identified the injured civilians as Elijah Akol, Paul Losike, Simon Ilukol, and a man only identified as Badu, all residents of Kangole town council.
While Longole declined to disclose the names of the injured officers, he confirmed that all the victims, both civilians and police were rushed to Kangole health centre III for treatment.
He said the aim of stopping the event was to maintain security and enforce the law, but the crowd became violent and attacked police officers. He noted that investigations into the incident have commenced, and efforts are underway to identify those responsible for instigating the violence.

Mr. Longole needs to be “educated” in PERCEPTION. The executive has to portray an air of invincibility though outnumbered 500 to 1. Google it
Do not mention the number of “coercive agents” beaten up. Do you want to embolden the “rouble” to take back their country?
We are heading to 2026. The seeds of fear have to be planted in the populace (when updf and SFC go to Congo, Somalia and South Sudan only the “enemy” losses, none of ours gets beaten up. They just disappear like Bachwezi)
If you uncloak the PERCEPTION of police invincibility, you are only bringing yourself problems.
Just say 4 civilians got injured in the operation. Full Stop.
