A police constable attached to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) in Nabilatuk district has reportedly taken his own life under unclear circumstances.

Nasur Wafula, 46, was stationed at the Lorengedwat ASTU detach located in Lokwakwa village, Lorengedwat sub county at the time of his death.
He hailed from Kaserem in Kapchwora district. He was found dead today Thursday afternoon with his SMG rifle. Mt Moroto Regional police spokesperson Mike Longole described the situation as tragic and expressed the police force’s commitment to determining the cause of death.
“We are yet to establish why the officer made the decision to take his life instead of seeking counselling or guidance if he had been facing any personal challenges,” Longole said.
Longole further emphasized the importance of mental health support for officers, who often work under high-stress conditions.
“The Uganda Police Force is deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague, PC Wafula Nasur. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time,” he added. Burial arrangements are currently underway in his ancestral home in Kaserem village.

Tragic and sad!
May Nasur Wafula’s soul now be at peace.
But why knowingly does the Police Department/government subject the Nasur Wafula of this country to high-stress conditions, which drives them nuts, into committing suicide?
Otherwise and compared, how many police officers (armed forces) committed suicide during the regimes of swine’s (Obote, Amin, Obote II nd Lutwa [ALL RIP])?
In other words, somethings terrible and tragic have been going on under the selfish leadership of our 80-year-old “Problem of Africa”. He only uses and abuses our sons and daughters in the armed forces, hence the rate of hopelessness and the rate of suicide and turning the gun on each other that is going on with it.
Lakwena you have a point indeed. It seems this is a profession that the workers are politically brainwashed in this institution not to ever try to leave the organization and retire. That is why if they cannot take the heat in the kitchen, they cannot dare leave the kitchen. The alternative is to shoot themselves dead. It is indeed very bad and brutal for these law and order officials to force themselves to die and leave their loving family God has given them to look after!
Lakwena, thanks.
It’s always desperation, that leads to this kind of end, especially for security officials! The Police constable had no where to turn to! Rwandese Museveni, like Sudanese Idi Amin, owns Uganda, but Ugandans can become ONE & block him without armed war, then form the kind of governance they want!
Why are tribal leaders still in posts & why are Ugandans waiting for next fake presidential election that Museveni has already won?
Kabayekka, thanks.
Unless Ugandans stop Rwandese Museveni in UNITY, they will fight one another to please Museveni, so won’t have answers to their problems!
Ugandans’ situation is not that bad as it’s them, the people to whom tribal lands that form Uganda belong, that have the power in UNITY with ONE Natioqnal Leader, to block Museveni!
Soon 40 years of Rwandese Museveni, but Ugandans will go for next fake presidential election to ensure his post, then bolster him with fake parliamentary, local elections, WHY?
No armed war will help Ugandans as it will be them, fighting one another & for no reason!
Ugandans, please, NO to the tribalistic system & UNITY, NOW, then you will be FREE to form the kind of governance you want!
Rwandese Museveni has tribally divided & turned Ugandans against one another to ensure the zone formed by their tribal lands belongs to him, but Ugandans are the last to understand this, WHY?
