At least 7,000 students will graduate from Kyambogo University next week, according to a tentative graduation list released yesterday.
The students will be awarded with degrees, diplomas and certificates from December 14 to 16 during the institution’s 13th graduation ceremony.
According to the list, 200 students will graduate with first-class honours and 74 with distinctions. Of these, the diploma in Accounting and Finance programme has the highest number of first-class students at 15. It is followed by Bachelor of Microfinance with 10, while Bachelor of Economics and Statistics and Bachelor of Arts with Education have eight each.
An October 3 letter signed by the academic registrar, Rose G. Bwire, indicates that only students who have successfully completed their academic programmes, financially verified and vetted will be allowed to graduate.
“Go to the bursar’s office to complete the verification exercise and to your respective faculties/schools and confirm the spelling of your name,” reads the letter.
It adds that verification is ongoing and all graduands should have been financially verified by December 9, 2016.
