More than 60,000 Ugandans have been disqualified from the ongoing nationwide recruitment exercise by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), which aims to enlist 11,500 new soldiers.
The mass recruitment drive, conducted between July 7 and July 11, 2025, began with an online application phase via the UPDF website. According to Maj Gen Felix Kulaigye, director of Defence Public Information, the army received 78,000 applications from aspiring recruits.
However, only 13,000 applicants qualified for the next stage, leaving approximately 65,000 disqualified due to failure to meet initial requirements.
Kulaigye said the next phase will involve physical screening at designated district recruitment centres from August 5 to 15. He added that this stage will narrow down the number of successful applicants from 13,000 to the final 11,500 target.
The UPDF also issued a caution to applicants with medical conditions such as bow-leggedness, cross-eyedness, or ringworm to refrain from attending the physical screening, as they are unlikely to meet the required medical standards.
The recruitment exercise is part of the UPDF’s broader effort to strengthen the force while ensuring that only physically and medically fit candidates are enlisted to serve the country.

Good now we have 65,000 “potential headaches” in the populace…

Where will the physical exercise be in Entebbe,I failed to submit online
Good morning , I also wanted to be part of the team,
the village drunkard,
I don’t know if you really drink, but only Ugandans, as ONE people, with ONE National/Common Learer, will give chance to stop all this incomprehensiveness going on in Rwandese Museveni’s Uganda who has turned Ugandans into robots fabricated by him!
Only Ugandans, but in UNITY, will give chance to the next generation in a Uganda that will & must belong to the people to whom tribal lands that form the zone belongs!
Tribal leaders, mps, ministers, solders, police, quiet poor…are Ugandans ensuring Rwandese Museveni owns Uganda, tax money & controls every institution, right?
Will NO to the tribalistic system & UNITY of Ugandans under just ONE of them, keep Museveni on & which tribes will fight to ensure he stay on & from which tribal land will they fight to bring him back?
Soon 40 years of Museveni & what are Ugandans waiting for when only them, in UNITY, can stop him?

You should start with the people who share your name “Akot”.
Unite them under pay back for 20 years of …(Though they might have a “guilt” complex for what they did to their “aggressors” before)
Or land grabbing…(Though they might not “greedily” value their land since it is “communally” owned)
Learn to be definitive while influencing people, it is not just a matter of repetition(though that also works).
I suggest you read Robert Ciadini – influence or how to influence people
The best option would be “my jaja’s” option:
Accept the other parties terms but betray the other party when you get the chance or when you feel strong enough or just when it is convenient.
No one will follow you (heed your advice) unless they have something to gain or fear to lose something.
You first start with the “Akots” …olemeddwa kasanke ate osaba…do the “small” things first before you ask for the big ones.
