More than 1,000 graduands will gather at Mbarara University of Science and Technology this Saturday for the 23rd graduation ceremony.
According to the university spokesman, Dennis Lukaaya, 1,189 students are to graduate with degrees and diplomas. The graduands include eight PhDs and 17 other postgraduate qualifications.
The university will, among other courses, award 81 students with the bachelor of medicine and surgery degree, as well as 42 with the bachelor of nursing science.
Meanwhile today, Buganda Royal Institute is to award certificates and diplomas to 1,000 graduands who completed their studies at the institute. The event takes place at the Kakeeka campus in Mengo, Kampala.
The katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, is expected to preside over the ceremonies.
Mayiga will also hand out innovation awards before launching a computer laboratory, equipped with over 200 computers.
