16 people have died in a motor accident along the Jinja-Kampala highway. The accident occurred this afternoon at Busagazi after Bulyantente trading center near Mabira forest.
According to witnesses the accident occurred when a speeding trailer, registration number UAU 650S lost control and rammed into a Kampala bound taxi registration number UAZ 350U.
Samuel Madira, the Buikwe district police commander, says all the occupants of the taxi including the driver and his conductor died on spot.
He blames the accident on the heavy rains, which he says affected visibility on the road.
