The Senior presidential advisor on political affairs in the Office of the NRM National Chairman Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye on Thursday hosted hundreds of Muslims in the first-of-a-kind Iftar on the street.
The rare event was held on Buganda Road between the area covering Buganda Road court up to the junction that joins Kyaggwe road. Those in attendance were able to come together to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan.
Iftar allows Muslims observing Ramadan the opportunity to gather to break their fast together as well as provide a space for mutual dialogue and engagement. The event included speeches from several high-profile Muslim figures, highlighting the importance of Ramadan to all Muslims regardless of political affiliation.
Several speakers noted that the event was an excellent opportunity to bring the Muslim community and others together to discuss their faith. Commenting on the event, Namyalo said: “We were delighted to host our first ever Iftar in partnership with several well-wishers who have made the event a success. We hope this event is the first of many, as it is a wonderful occasion to bring our Muslim communities together to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan.”
“Islam has the ability to bring people together irrespective of their political affiliation. Seeing the Muslim community come together like they have done today really brings this message home. It’s important we share this celebration to help promote understanding, friendship and compassion within the Muslim community regardless of each other’s backgrounds.”

It doesn’t matter how many iddi fitri you will do as long as your on the side of the oppresser Allah will judge you accordingly….
