Lt Gen Sam Kavuma addressing the teachers

God may be angry with Ugandans for constantly seeking wealth abroad, Lt Gen Sam Kavuma, the commander of the African Union Transition Mission (ATMIS), has said.

Speaking to secondary school teachers from Greater Ankole during a patriotism training and ideological orientation session at Ntare School in Mbarara City, Kavuma described it as shameful for a resource-rich country like Uganda to keep “begging” and depending on other nations for survival.

He urged teachers to take the lead in job creation by using their skills to start income-generating ventures. Kavuma emphasized the need to recognize God as the ultimate wealth creator, with government playing the role of facilitator by providing key enablers such as infrastructure, electricity, education, healthcare, and industrialization.

The general also stressed that peace, security, and stability remain crucial ingredients for development, noting that even countries blessed with natural resources cannot defeat poverty without these foundations.

Assistant Inspector General of Police Tom Magambo, the Director of Criminal Investigations (CID), also addressed the gathering, urging teachers to appreciate Uganda’s history as a way of understanding its present mission, fighting poverty and safeguarding stability through patriotism.

He encouraged educators to actively embrace government initiatives like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga, which are designed to boost household incomes and livelihoods.

The ideological orientation and patriotism course has drawn more than 1,142 secondary school teachers from Lyantonde, Isingiro, Mbarara City, Mbarara District, Kazo, Ntungamo, Kiruhura, and Rwampara. The training is organized by the National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps under State House.

  1. So, is God happy with Ugandans for forsaking Him and instead electing people who not only despise God, but also glorify witchcraft, sectarianism, dissension, corruption, lies, injustice, narcissism, drunkards, etc? Would God be happy with those who selfishly enrich themselves at the expense of muzzling and manipulating the poor citizens to glorify them? How about the poor health, nutrition, poverty? Could God be punishing Ugandans by giving them bad leaders to prove a point so that they end up on the fence and so go seeking opportunities abroad and then again God becomes angry with them? Does God favor the WICKED?

If you find no positive answer to any of the above, surely, you’re speaking your own narrow subjectivity and falsely invoking the name of God! STOP and REPENT then SEEK THE WISDOM OF GOD BEFORE SPEAKING NEXT TIME. (JAMES 1:5)

Concerned J, thank you so so much!

All tribes UNITED against just Acholi to bring in Rwandese Museveni who tribally divided them immediately & Ugandans have no common goal, no common leader to UNITE them, but they are further divided by + 1 oppositon leaders who lead them to fake elections to ensure Uganda belongs to Museveni legally, officially, constitutionally!

Not to forget “God helps those who help themselves”!

  3. The Gen Kavuma of this country are indeed shameless. They got their job by force and diabolic violence (Organized murder), jumping over dead bodies of hundreds and thousands Ugandans in order to capture power and our now bloody State House. And moreover promote themselves into General after killing fellow countrymen, women, children and the destruction properties in billions of shillings of the time.

They keep the job by force, kill and steal (corruption and plunder) and stay there by force and violence.

But here they are, after impoverishing, bringing school teachers to theirs knees, ready for brainwashing, militarisation and deceptively telling these impoverished, homeless school teachers to create jobs. What a BS!

And who would be teaching our children, if the teachers are busy creating jobs? Get lost with your deception (kufeela Ugandans) in the name God’s anger.

  4. In other words, by training the school teachers with the art of KILLING (militarism), Gen Kavuma & Co. are actually ATHEISTS, out to cause bloodshed/bath.

    1. If your thinking is that the military is about killing, then you need that training more than those teachers.

      1. But Atuhairwe, except killing (being at war with) fellow countrymen, women and children, and destroying properties in Luweero, Greater Northern Uganda and the Kasese of this country; the NRA/UPDF has never gone to war with, including our immediate neighbouring countries like: DR Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan and Tanzania.

In other words, and except serving as mercenary, aiding and abetting bloodshed in Rwanda, DR Congo, Somalia and South Sudan; the UPDF presence outside our borders, is only being in hot pursuit to commit the abomination of murdering fellow countrymen, women and children; who have fled to those countries (their dead bodies left there for vultures and other scavengers to feed on. Not even buried in shallow/mass graves.

        SHAME.
Except through bloody violence (terror), the regime has no intellectual, ethical, moral and/or ideological capacity to persuade the Ugandans who do not agree with their selfish, backwards and shallow political ideology and/or morality.

Otherwise, even before Independence we do not have any foreign enemy!

        Hell NO!

The Atuhairwe of this country are brainwashing-war-mongers, and training Ugandan school teacher to kill their former, current and/or future students, who will disagree with Mr. M7 and his lousy son bid for a family rule.

And those militarily trained school teachers must consider themselves earmarked (numbered) and cooked candidates for Gen Muhoozi’s General Court Martial.

In other words, why was the UPDF Bill to try civilian in General Court Martial brought back and passed even after the Supreme Court Ruled and ordered otherwise. It is because, should anybody Kyankwanized (underwent basic paramilitary training and brainwashing) and defect/disobey the notorious order from above, they are already concealed with the rank of UPDF PRIVATE. Therefore, easily General Court Martialled, hooded black and shot at sunset in a hail firing squad bullets.

  5. 🇺🇬 Uganda’s Youth Deserve Real Opportunities, Not Empty Promises 🇺🇬

When I left university after Amin’s time, jobs were waiting for us—even before graduation. A degree came with dignity, a salary, even housing. That Uganda no longer exists.

Today, any parent who has sent children to university in the last 10–15 years knows the painful truth: graduates are at home, jobless and frustrated. With no prospects, many leave the country—not because they want to abandon Uganda, but out of desperation.

General, you ask why Ugandans go abroad to work. The answer is simple: there are no jobs here. The economy does not work for everyone. It works for the privileged few—those with access to positions for themselves and their families. Most young Ugandans are not that fortunate.

We cannot dismiss their struggle. Uganda’s young people are talented, hardworking, and ambitious. What they lack are opportunities.

👉 It is time to create an economy that works for all, not just for a connected few.
👉 It is time to invest in industries that generate real jobs, not temporary handouts.
👉 It is time to give our graduates a reason to believe their future can be built here at home.

Uganda’s future depends on how we treat its youth today. Let’s act before despair drives away the best of our talent.
