A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in Kasese, western Uganda for allegedly raping a 3-year-old girl.
The suspect was arrested from Kikonzo Cell, Central Division in Kasese Municipality. The victim’s older brother says that yesterday at around 3:30 pm, while playing in the compound, they heard the minor making a loud cry, and on reaching out, they found the suspect’s pants down while holding the minor on his thighs.
They alerted the police who picked up the suspect. John Siriwayo, Municipal councillor representing the area, attributes such acts to the influence of drugs that many young people have taken on.
Joackim Bwakya, acting officer in charge of Kasese Central police station confirmed the development saying the victim has been taken to the hospital for a medical examination.
