Police van at parliament

Tensions remained high at parliament as investigators sealed off former speaker of parliament Anita Among’s office and declared it a crime scene.

The Tuesday operation, which began around 9:30 am, involved a team of at least 20 police detectives who split into teams and moved into the speaker’s chamber, the clerk’s office, the parliamentary external auditor’s office, and the communications office.

Journalists were barred from accessing the affected areas. Prominent city lawyer Caleb Alaka, who is leading Among’s defence team, arrived about 20 minutes after the search began and headed straight to the speaker’s chamber.

“There are several final narratives. We’ll issue a statement on what’s going on. My client is okay,” Alaka told journalists, declining to comment further.

Anita Among’s offices sealed off

By midday, offices on parliament’s fifth floor that had already been searched, including the speaker’s chamber, had been sealed off as crime scenes.

Plainclothes security operatives were seen moving in and out of the building as investigators continued. Most sections of parliament remained closed, with only a few staff members working in offices that were still accessible.

Although employees attempted to carry on with normal duties, visible tension lingered as uncertainty grew over the scope of the investigation and the possibility of more arrests.

Security at parliament remained heavy throughout the operation, with soldiers and police officers deployed at both entrances. A number of MPs from the 11th and 12th parliaments were seen entering and leaving the premises, though most declined to speak to the media.

The search at parliament comes as investigators enter the fourth day of operations linked to Among. Detectives have already searched properties associated with her in Nakaseke, Kigo and Ntinda.

Security officials have not publicly commented on the investigation. However, sources close to the probe say investigators are examining alleged financial networks, procurement deals, and links between politically connected figures in parliament and government ministries.

The investigations into alleged corruption, money laundering and illicit enrichment are continuing to widen. Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) also first son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba declared that the ongoing operation will not spare anyone except the president and his mother, Janet Museveni.

  1. As a reminder I suppose Anita Among and the slow learners of this country are beginning to know, what it means to be used, dumped and fought like a mortal enemy by Gen Tibuhaburwa & Son Army, the UPDF.

Otherwise, considering the lawlessness superintended over by his busybody son (CDF), the STANDBY PROBLEM (generator) OF AFRICA/Uganda Gen MK; who in his/her right state of mind can deny that: the former Speaker Among’s unrestrained and Satanic corruption, and the raid on the plunder and loot therein, EXPOSED and certifies; how BOGUS (EMPTY -courtesy of Dr. Yusuf Sserunkuma), has our 86-year-old PROBLEM OF AFRICA, Gen Tibuhaburwa has been and has become?

From a constitutional, rule of law and the protection properties perspective; where is the IGP and DPP in this?

Except the impunity of the abuse of power/institution, conflict of interest and/or office: Instead of focusing on his jurisdiction as the CDF, of superintending and defending our borders; what business does the head of the UPDF (CDF) got to do with the business of the Uganda Police and Director of Public Prosecution?

E.g., suppose while the busybody CDF is illegally running around, deploying the personnel to run after the thieving Among of this country; and this time around, the real enemy of the country pounced on the country and overrun it because, the CDF is absent minded diverted from his official duty, who will take responsibility.

In other words, 40 years and counting; who in his/her right state of mind can deny that: Uganda is but a FAILED STATE, under our 86-years-old PROBLEM OF AFRICAN, Gen Tibuhaburwa and his son, the STANDBY PROBLEM OF UGANDA, Gen MK?
