Desire Luzinda scooped the award for best-dressed female celebrity at the Abryanz fashion awards last Friday night.
Luzinda puts in a lot of effort to look apart, but whether she is the best or not is debatable. One thing for sure is that she stood out on that awards night.
Her debt to the event was her teenage daughter. The last time we saw her, she was a little girl dressed in white at her mother’s concert where Luzinda showed off her ‘kitone’ that day possibly very sure that her daughter was too young to remember any nastiness.
The story was totally different last Friday. Mother and daughter turned up dressed in custom-made black outfits. Ordinarily, Luzinda would have loved to show a little more skin, but because of her unusual date, she chose to cover up a little more, only giving us a little skin show via a see-through sheer fabric.
Their look had many reflecting on our mother-daughter goals. A lot of mistakes we make as adults is stopping at telling our children what to do. We do not practice what we preach sometimes.
By dressing ‘appropriately’ to this event in her daughter’s company, Luzinda not only showed her how it is done, she also proved she respects her role as a mother and a role model.
For that, Luzinda deserves an award.
