Why are you mad at God?

Don’t waste time being angry with God. Before you know it, you will have packed another ten years away, without realizing even a quarter of your destiny.

Waiting on God is hard work, I know, but don’t make the wait even harder by throwing tantrums and jumping off the instructed path. I should know about being lowkey angry with God.

I could never say I was angry with Him, but well, actions speak louder that words. Besides, doesn’t the Bible say that God checks our hearts? There is no hiding anything from Him.

Well, recently I threw out an item I had been keeping for years as a sign of my faith, until I saw it recently as I was organizing the house and in a surge of anger, got rid of it. I told God: “If you are to help me, you will just help me by Your grace – going forward. I am tired with the steps of faith.”

Of course, a few minutes later, I was asking for His forgiveness, in case my tone of prayer had come off as grumbling or even rude and complaining. But I love the fact that there is no structured prayer or conversation between God and I.

Some of my most candid moments with Him have been almost conversational, and oh, how He responds to those prayers! But back to you. Are you done with your angry tantrum? Are you done sulking and staying away from church and fellowship?

Are you done isolating yourself and stubbornly refusing to pray? Are you done trying it on your own? Are you done moving in circles, looking for happiness in the wrong places? Good.

Now pick yourself up, dust yourself off, find your Bible and go back before the Almighty God. Don’t make your journey through the wilderness longer than it should be. The Bible says, the children of Israel were supposed to spend just 11 days in the wilderness, on their way from Egypt to the Promised Land.

But because of their grumbling, idol worship and inequity, they spent a whopping 40 years wandering in the desert! Don’t waste time looking for shortcuts; the way to your Canaan is through the wilderness. Hang in there a little longer.
