Club Silk is one of those bars that has stood the test of time. However, last year the club was caught between a rock and a hard place as management struggled to keep it afloat.

The building on which the club was located was bought by Vision Group and there were rumours that the club was finally no more. Star Trail, through reliable sources, can reveal that the club will be moving to Naalya’s Metropolex mall later this year.

On the other hand, Silk Liquid on December 24 celebrated two years. Liquid was opened as a VIP wing for Silk customers with a fully-fledged whisky bar.
On the anniversary, the premium customers were invited while the rest who wanted to be part of the do had to part with Shs 50,000.

It was an open bar with proprietor Elvis Sekyanzi carrying out a small quiz where guests including Star Trail walked away with brand new coffee makers while others won bottles of Johnnie Walker and partied away.

Ugandan outs daily devotional

A book that will guide Christians and non-Christians on daily Bible devotion was launched last Friday by Evangelist Gideon Wananda from Entebbe Revival Mission church.

Titled Spiritual Maturity Devotional, it is one of its kind in the country.

It lets one engage every one of the 365 days of a year with scripture, its explanation and suggested inspired prayers aligned to the word of that day.

“If we pray according to scripture, we pray according to the will of God and, therefore, our prayer is answered. If we read the word daily, understand it and put it in practice, we grow spiritually because the word of God is food to the human spirit,” Wananda said.

“Through this devotional you are going to engage everyday with scripture. This will help you be exposed to over 70 per cent of the Bible in less than one year.”
Wananda said Spiritual Maturity Devotional is designed to help Christians, whatever their level of spiritual maturity, to grow in all aspects.

Wananda has authored several Bible-related books including Learning To Manage Your Own Emotions, Understanding Your Calling, Purpose And Destiny, Prophecy and The Return Of Christ.

Word on the grapevine is that the group will be back for another concert earlier this year. And basing on the love that Kampala has shown them every time they are here, they are confident that it will not be a flop.
