It was a night for Openheimer and Barbie in Film, and Succession and The Bear in Television. Predictably, Emma Stone won Best Actress for Poor Things, and Paul Giamatti won Best actor for The Holdovers, and those were the films that managed to get in a word sideways as Openheimer and Barbie seemed to take a broom to all the other categories, winning eight categories (Openheimer) and seven for Barbie.
Televised live across the world, the awards gala was held at Barker Hanger, in Santa Monica, California.
