God is an artist. He created things in so many amazing ways.

I even pity someone who does not believe in the existence of God. Surely, there is a supreme being controlling everything. Of the egg or the hen, He knows what came first. He knows what holds the sky without pillars. He knows the beginning and the end. He also decides where the moon should hide all day till it comes out in the evening.

It would be unwise to think that everything happens by its own. When the sun goes to sleep after a long day and the moon comes out, things change. The sun goes to visit other people. Basically, it never rests. Scientifically, it’s the earth that rotates around the sun.

But this is not a science class. It is such phenomena and more that has given birth to time zones. Time zones can really be confusing. While dudes struggle with friend zones, mine is the time zones.  I wonder what people used to do before smartphones. It is true people were way smarter before these gadgets landed into their hands.

Now the gadgets do most of the work for us. Before I text or call someone, I have to first run to my Clock App and check the time in the country I am trying to call. It is a lot of work, isn’t it?

Why can’t the sun shine for us all at the same time, and go to sleep later? Why keep other people awake hustling, while others snore away?

I have been involved in a project with my cousin in Australia, but communication is a whole different ball game. One of us has to stay up really late if we are to discuss something. By the time I get to work, it is evening for him to go back home. Just when I have settled down in the evening to chat, it is already past midnight; so, he has to sleep.

Anyway, the country is on the other side of the world; so, it is understandable.

I am told he takes 26 hours in the air to arrive here. How about Rwanda? Why is it one hour behind Uganda? When you fly from Entebbe, you will arrive in Kigali at the same time as your departure. That does not make sense to me at all.

Sometimes, I think God planned his things with a message behind. Most likely in a few years to come, the only thing we may have to brag about over Rwanda is being an hour ahead of them. The land of a thousand hills will be probably far ahead in everything.

It still baffles me why Lagos is in the same time zone with London. Is Lagos the London of Africa?
