Both videos sparked a storm of stigma against the celebrated broadcaster and MC, with some thinking he would not recover from it. But clearly, MC Kats knows how to make lemonade from his lemons, because his latest project is a campaign to combat stigma against people living with HIV.
The self-proclaimed king of the mic plans to use his entertainment platforms to educate the masses about stigma and its dangers to those living with the virus that causes Aids. Kats will be working closely with the Uganda Network on Law, Ethics and HIV/Aids (UGANET), UNDP, TASO, the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria as well as the Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa (OSIEA).
