While the show is primarily concerned with the criminal mysteries and cases that Lucifer has to solve, each episode finds time to explore the character’s supernatural origins, not to mention the nature of his relationship with the angels and demons on earth.
Lucifer was initially canceled after three seasons because of poor ratings. But after a fervent petition from dedicated fans, Netflix picked up the show. The fifth season will air on August 21.
Season four ended with Lucifer abandoning his relationship with Chloe Decker and returning to hell to resume his duties. Season five will start with Michael, Lucifer’s brother, impersonating the devil in LA.
Netflix has already renewed Lucifer for a sixth and final season.
