The KCCA Grounds in Kampala came alive with a burst of colors as hundreds of revellers, mostly from the Indian community and other well-wishers, gathered to celebrate the annual Holi Festival.
Holi, known as the Festival of Colors, is a cherished Hindu tradition that marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. The 2025 festival was organized by Kansai Plascon Uganda in collaboration with the Rajasthani Association, the Indian Association of Uganda, and the Indian High Commission.
In true Holi spirit, revellers gleefully tossed vibrant powders into the air and smeared them on each other, creating a dazzling display of unity and joy. Children and young adults enjoyed splashing gulal—coloured water solutions—while adults exchanged dry powders known as abir as gestures of goodwill and friendship.

The celebration was further enriched by a delightful array of traditional Indian delicacies, music, and dance, which infused the event with warmth and festivity. Speaking at the event, Kansai Plascon Uganda’s managing director, Santosh Gumte, expressed the company’s pride in supporting the festival.
“Plascon Uganda is honoured to be part of Holi Festival 2025, a celebration that beautifully captures the essence of community, diversity, and joy. We believe in fostering connections and giving back to the communities we serve, and Holi perfectly reflects these values,” he said.
Gumte further emphasized Plascon’s commitment to cultural engagement, describing the partnership as a demonstration of their dedication to strengthening cultural ties and supporting meaningful initiatives that bring people together.
