For some reason, the show has failed to gain favour among Ugandans that enjoyed the original telenovela when it premiered in 2008.

Wording reaching Star Trail is that even before Second Chance makes ten episodes, some of its actors are jumping ship – the first one is none other  than Isaac Kuddzu who brings to life Walter’s butler character.

Apparently, the actor has disagreed with his director Phad Mutumba on the direction he is taking the show. Close friends to the actor note that Kuddzu took the job hoping to interpret Walter’s butler with a Ugandan feel only to be disappointed by the copy-and-paste intentions.

The actor took to his Twitter to announce that because of his values and principles, he made a tough decision, ending the post with #IThrowInTheTowel…

As for Shilpa Shetty…!

Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty made quite a spectacle of herself, saying children should read George Orwell’s Animal Farm to learn to care for animals.

The 2007 Big Brother winner, 41, wrote about a new school syllabus for English literature in a Mumbai Times newspaper article. Welcoming new additions such as Harry Potter, she said it was important to cultivate children’s imagination and added that political novella Animal Farm should be included.

“I thinks books like Little Women would also encourage respect towards women at a young age. Even Animal Farm should be included as it will teach the little ones to love and care for animals.” Ouch!

Little did she know that far from being a cuddly children’s book, the 1945 work is a dystopian satire on 20th century dictatorship based on the 1917 Russia Revolution.

The star’s literary faux pas quickly sparked a new meme in India, where Twitter users came up with hundreds of alternative suggestions under the hashtag #ShilpaShettyReviews.

“Fifty Shades of Grey is an amazing colouring book. Children will love it #ShilpaShettyReviews” tweeted Vishal Purohit.

Poor Shilpa!

Kiyingi gets another chance

You may remember folklore artiste Giovanni Kiyingi’s performance at the last edition of Blankets and Wine; he performed as it rained and only those dedicated to his music stayed to watch him get drenched on stage.

Well, seems this young man was born lucky; organisers of the show last week announced him as one of the performers for their December do.

Kiyingi will be joining Tanzanian artiste and MTV Europe – Best African Act winner Ali Kiba, The Mith and Jemimah Sanyu for the last Blankets and Wine of this year set for December 8 at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.

Hope the rain does not follow Giovanni to the oval again.

Bebe Cool set for international collabos

He attended American Chris Brown’s concert solely to solicit for a collaboration, but sources in Mombasa reveal that Chris Breezy’s bouncers were so mean they did not allow Bebe Cool to see their boss or even his tour bus, for that matter!

But trust Bebe, he doesn’t give up; he has already drawn his 2017 plans where he will not hold a concert but concentrate on elevating himself to international status.

He has already secured at least seven collaborations with international acts he is yet to name. Speculations point at a Tanzanian, a Kenyan and Nigerian….

Apparently, the artiste is also still pursuing that Chris Brown collaboration too……never say die!
