Dunkirk recollects the evacuation of allied soldiers from Britain, Belgium, Canada and France stuck at a French beach during World War II, with an invading German military unit attacking them from various fronts.
When a decision is reached by the high command to evacuate the fleeing soldiers, it becomes a fight for survival.
Dunkirk is filmed on the perspectives of the soldiers waiting for their evacuation, the pilots who kept watch over the soldiers stuck at the beach and navy personnel who helped coordinate the rescue.
This World War II-based film stars Harry Styles, Tom Hardy (Mad Max), Cillian Murphy (The Dark Knight Trilogy), James D’Arcy (Agent Carter) and Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies).
It is directed by Christopher Nolan, whose credits include Inception, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar.
