It is not so often that you have the crème de la crème of spin masters in the same building without any tension.

However, on Friday night during the Uganda Waragi King of the Turntables at The Space in industrial area, fans were treated to an effervescent show of deejay skills.

For starters, The Space rooftop, which is fast-becoming Kampala’s hot spot for parties, was a fitting venue for such a long night since there are no restrictions on noise pollution.

Edgar Birungi, the Uganda Breweries Limited marketing manager (in charge of spirits), had already warned fans of an enthralling night.

“Uganda Waragi is proud to sponsor this event because we are a brand that is associated with fun and excitement. We have put in tireless work to make tonight’s audience happy,” Birungi said.

Lined up to entertain first was DJ Konk Mukiga, whose knowledge of reggae beats left hundreds yearning for more. Kenyan DJ Crisio also showcased the best from the region’s music, before DJ Hypnotiq took over the show.

Hypnotiq is enjoying a meteoric rise in the music industry due to his seamless way of blending new hits with old skool jams without breaking the audience’s rhythm.

Multi-award winning Alludah, the night’s host, wound up the night in empathic style and had fans in the palm of his hand. At 3am, revellers had to leave the venue after a fantastic night.

Event organiser Ali Alibhai of Talent Africa was thrilled.

“It is exciting for us to have organised this second edition of King of the Turntables. We are delighted at how it has turned out because bringing people together to celebrate life is what we are all about,” Alibhai said.
