After 15 years of producing professionals, St Mark’s College Namagoma finally welcomed back some its alumni on June 24, 2017 for a day of fun and mentorship.

Initially called to launch an alumni association, the event saw the old students match around the community, led by the school band, to raise awareness for Namagoma.

This match saw the alumni visit the elderly in the community, where they donated several household items, including sugar, salt, and soap. After the match, the alumni had one-on-one sessions with current students, collected from senior three to senior six, on life after school.

According to one of the alumni, Andrew Mbabazi, they shared life experiences, especially on hard work, perseverance and seeking to resolve community problems, as a way to create business opportunities.

The event was crowned by a church service, led by the chief guest, the Bishop of Namirembe, Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira, who applauded the alumni and the school directors Daniel and Alice Ddamulira for starting the school, with the aim of producing skilled professionals.

The alumni finally made merry with dinner and an awards ceremony for celebrated former students. Those who got awards include Ibrahim Ssebatta (valid contribution), Apollo Wandera (employer award), Francis Muwonge (leadership award) and Disan Ssebingi (most influential award).
