In a major step toward digital transformation, UAP Old Mutual Insurance has officially launched online motor and travel insurance portals aimed at simplifying the insurance purchase process and enhancing customer convenience.
According to the company’s press release, the new portals allow customers to easily onboard, explore product benefits, get instant quotes, and manage their policies through an intuitive online platform.
The portals are equipped with chatbot support for real-time assistance, ensuring a seamless self-service experience accessible anytime, anywhere. Antony Mutyabule, business transformation manager at UAP Old Mutual, said the platforms are designed to boost both customer convenience and operational efficiency.
James Maguru, general manager at UAP Old Mutual, emphasized that the portals offer a fully digitized customer journey, from policy selection and online payments to after-sales service.
Representing the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) of Uganda, Kevin Katete, licensing and compliance manager, applauded the move as a significant milestone.
“The launch of these portals is a significant step towards enhancing insurance penetration and promoting financial inclusion. As a regulator, we actively support innovations that make insurance more accessible, customer-centric, and responsive to the needs of today’s digital-savvy consumers,” Katete said.
He added that the IRA prioritizes innovations that are accurate, convenient, and tailored to customer needs, and such elements must be embedded in every solution the Authority supports.
In a related development, UAP Old Mutual also unveiled the “Mpola Mpola” campaign, a flexible monthly instalment plan that enables customers to pay their annual motor insurance premiums in smaller, manageable portions.
This customer-first initiative is aimed at making quality insurance more affordable and inclusive, reinforcing UAP Old Mutual’s commitment to being a trusted financial partner for all Ugandans.
