Stanbic bank also donated medical items

Last week, Stanbic bank together with Busaiga Sacco joined forces to organize a free medical camp and donated vital medical equipment in Kabarole district.

The event, held at Nyantabooma health centre III, aimed at improving maternal health outcomes and providing accessible healthcare to the local community.

The event happened at a time when the district is struggling to address the problem of stillbirths and other maternal health-related issues. The donation, valued at Shs 20 million, included a variety of modern medical devices that are expected to significantly enhance the capacity of Nyantabooma health centre III, which serves approximately 17,000 outpatients annually, including about 200 antenatal cases and around 50 deliveries each month.

During the ceremony, Tunde Thorpe, the executive head of business and Commercial Banking at Stanbic bank, emphasized the bank’s commitment to community empowerment through strategic partnerships.

“This donation is not merely a gesture of goodwill; it embodies our purpose,‘Uganda is our home and we drive her growth,” he said.

Since 2021, Stanbic Bank has donated over 22,000 mama kits and medical supplies to 85 health facilities across Uganda. Nyantabooma health centre III’s in-charge, Dr. Moses Gumisiriza, expressed gratitude for the support.

“We are immensely grateful to Stanbic bank and Busaiga Sacco for their contribution. The new equipment will improve healthcare quality in the area and reduce referrals to Fort Portal hospital,” he said.
