Latimer Mukasa, the managing director of MUA Uganda, said “This is not a mere rebranding. Our new corporate identity goes far beyond that. We are reaffirming our company culture, reinforcing our values, creating a strong sense of belonging and pride across all our divisions.”
MUA, which operates in six countries, will now be able to offer its Uganda clientele a longer list of products, with several brought in from the Mauritius headquarters, Mukasa adds. It also means a Uganda client can transact seamlessly in any of MUA’s subsidiaries.
In September 2007, MUA launched a strategic plan, codenamed Ambition 2020 that is supposed to guarantee 57% growth by September 2020.
“Our board of directors has set some ambitious targets for MUA Uganda and indeed for our entire group because we strongly believe in the potential for growth and further development across East Africa and the Indian Ocean,” Bertrand Casteres, MUA Group CEO, says.
With insurance penetration in Uganda standing at below one per cent, Mukasa is positive that these group ambitions can be met.
