Old Mutual, Airtel and NxtPe officials at the launch

Old Mutual Life Assurance has partnered with fintech platform, NxtPe and Airtel Money to offer its customers a more convenient and secure way to pay their life insurance premiums digitally.

With this new solution, customers can instantly pay premiums via Airtel Money and even set up standing orders directly from their Airtel Money wallets.

This eliminates the need for traditional bank standing orders, making the process faster, simpler, and more user-friendly.

Speaking at the launch event held at Old Mutual’s head office, Joshua Akena, head of operations at Old Mutual Life Assurance, emphasized the convenience the new platform offers.

“Whether you’re at home or on the go, you can pay your life insurance premiums with just a few taps. More than that, the ability to set up automatic payments from your Airtel Money wallet gives customers peace of mind and full control.”

According to the press statement, the platform’s integration is part of Airtel Money’s broader mission to digitize Uganda’s economy and enhance financial inclusion by ensuring that every Ugandan regardless of location has access to essential financial services.

Japhet Aritho, managing director of Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda Limited (AMCUL), highlighted the importance of the partnership, saying the collaboration with Old Mutual and NxtPe reflects their commitment to simplifying everyday financial services while deepening insurance penetration in the country – digital inclusion with real-life impact.
