Many people in developing countries like Uganda still depend on the informal economy, where the road to recovery will be longer and steeper. Estimates show that over a billion people in the informal economy may lose their livelihoods due to the pandemic’s toll.
During this time, microfinance institutions (MFIs) like FINCA can be critical partners in reaching the most effected populations which could save millions of livelihoods through the access they provide to credit, savings and other financial tools for self-employment activities.
Therefore, as one of the leading microfinances in Uganda, FINCA Uganda has grown with the support of many Ugandans, building tomorrow together. According to Onyutta, it is time to live our tomorrow now.
“In order to save livelihoods and help create the first steps towards economic recovery, although it will need the support of policymakers and various stakeholders, we have decided to go back to the basics and address the typical FINCA customer. The hardworking individual who aspires to achieve and be better. The hardworking communities and groups, which aspire to change the livelihoods of their community. This customer is you and I,” he says.
“As an institution that takes customer feedback to heart, we have come out with the ‘Tomorrow is Here’ campaign that pledges to offer service with incomparable quality. We want to be that financial partner that will help you to reach your financial plans.”
