Irene Mirembe

From a small village in Buikwe to the top of Uganda’s interior design industry, Mirembe Irene Nagawa’s story is one of perseverance, resilience, and self-belief.

Born into a poor family, Mirembe’s early life was marked by hardship but she refused to be defined by her circumstances. After completing her O’level education, Mirembe returned to her village, only to be confronted with the stark reality of poverty.

Determined to change the course of her life, she moved to Entebbe and began working in her brother’s garage, selling car spare parts for a modest salary of just Shs 60,000 a month. Life was far from easy, but Mirembe’s determination and strong work ethic stood out.

Her breakthrough came when a businessman hired her to sell curtains, an opportunity that marked the beginning of her career in interior design. Despite earning little at first, she remained committed to learning and perfecting her craft. Over time, she gained her employer’s trust and was promoted to manage the business.

Her integrity and customer service quickly earned her a loyal clientele, and with time, generous tips and increasing responsibility. But the road to success was not without obstacles. A betrayal by a business partner once left her with nothing, forcing her to start again from scratch.

Undeterred, Mirembe turned to social media, especially TikTok, to showcase her work, share her story, and attract new clients. Her creativity and online presence quickly drew nationwide attention, propelling her business to new heights. Today, Mirembe Irene Nagawa is a respected name in Uganda’s interior design scene.

She is also the founder of MBC TV, a fast-growing digital media platform aimed at inspiring and empowering youth. Focused on business, lifestyle, love, and real-life success stories, MBC TV reflects Mirembe’s passion for storytelling and entrepreneurship.

Driven by her mission to spotlight ordinary Ugandans doing extraordinary things, MBC TV offers talk shows, interviews, and motivational segments that promote business growth and personal development across the country.

Mirembe’s journey, from a village girl with limited means to a trailblazing entrepreneur and media founder, is a powerful testament to the strength of the human spirit. Her story proves that with courage, commitment, and vision, it’s possible to transform even the most modest beginnings into a life of purpose and success.
