Security agencies are hunting for former presidential Joseph Kabuleta, a day after raiding his offices.

On Wednesday, armed security personnel dressed in civilian clothes searched the offices of the National Economic Empowerment Dialogue located at Luthuli Avenue in Bugolobi and briefly detained Kabuleta’s workmates.

Today Thursday, security personnel returned to the offices but did not enter. Moses Matovu, the spokesperson of the National Economic Empowerment Dialogue, said that they resolved not to enter the offices for fear that the security personnel could have planted devices in the offices.

He explains that the armed men raided and searched the office for about seven hours. According to Matovu, the operatives took Kabuleta's phone that he was using during the presidential campaigns.

Matovu says they have not received any explanation from the police or army, on why their office was raided. He declined to reveal the whereabouts of Kabuleta. Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson Patrick Onyango declined to comment on the matter.

Matovu says that the raid could have been linked to the statements that Kabuleta made regarding plans by the government to vaccinate learners against covid-19.

Kabuleta has been against the vaccination of children in schools. According to him, vaccines have adverse effects on human beings and also cause death to some people.

Don’t be so naive. It’s nothing to do with his alleged statements against Vaccinating children.

That’s simply a ruse. It’s for his political statements, particularly statements against the attempt to turn Uganda into a monarchy/political dynasty and BBC an ethnocracy. For over 3 decades we have seen this government entrenching its ethnocratic agenda and clamping down on anyone who has the temerity to question it by accusing them of being tribalistic.

It was a very good trick that Ugandans fell for. Anyone complaining about the large number of people from the same region enjoying overnight success is labelled sectarian and threatened with prosecution. They have ridden their waves of privilege far beyond their own skill level.

Mr. Kabuleta should learn to be more tactical when dealing with matters of politics by leveraging them with the help of the law.

What Mr. kabuleta should have considered was to use the Court as a vehicle for the matters he believes need to be delivered to the population.

No one would come witch-hunting him. He can still beat them to the Court house and seek injunctive relief while at it.

But remember Apollo, by referring to the courts as the "just means" to our social, economic and political malaise; the regime is happily and functionally using the courts to bankrupt its critics, especially the publicly vocal opposition members.

E.g. think of Dr. Kiiza Besigye's recent Shs.30 million Bail amount!
