Having made its mark as the first Ugandan film to premier at Century Cinemax this year, Love Faces has scooped 13 nominations in this year’s Viewer’s Choice awards.
The awards are organized by Uganda Federation of the Movie Industry (UFMI) and Delta TV and were established to celebrate the movie industry’s prominent members and films as chosen by the audience.
Ugandan films have been nominated in the following categories: Best Sound, Best Costume/Make-Up, Best Screenplay, Best Short Film, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Film Actor, Best Film Actress (2), Best Film Director and Film of the Year.
Love Faces’ cast include: Laura Kahunde (NTV’s Second Chance, Heart in Pieces, Hello), Moses Kiboneka Jr, Patriq Nkakalukanyi (The Betrothal, Yat Madit, Sipi), Raymond Rushabiro (Bala Bala Sese, Rehema, the Only Son) and Salome Elizabeth Bwamimpeke (Rain, Roses in the Rain, Ekijja Kijje-Kama Mbaya ‘N’Mbaya).
The film is set to battle it out with films such as The Forbidden, which won best East African feature film at the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF), House on Fire, Break In and Days to Live.
The second edition of the viewer’s choice awards is slated to take place on November 24 at the Pearl of Africa hotel, Kampala.
