Desire, Salvado, named local Johnnie Walker ambassadors

Curvy singer Desire Luzinda, comedian Salvado and city celebrated bar marketer Gareth Onyango ate big as they were appointed Johnnie Walker whisky ambassadors.

They were unveiled as the whisky brand’s ‘influencers’ at a plush dinner held at Lake Victoria Serena Resort. They were named alongside other prominent figures including Patriko Mujuuka, John Segawa, Paul Jack Kutosi, Elvis Ntale and Job Katuramu.

The role of the new envoys of Johnnie Walker Uganda will be to push the brand and influence people to drink it.

“I love Johnnie Walker. It’s been my drink for a while. It is an honour for me to represent JW and be the brand influencer because it’s the world’s number one selling whisky and has won the most prestigious awards worldwide. I would like to share the Johnnie Walker experience with more and more Ugandans,” said Gareth Onyango.

Luzinda, the Ekitone singer, has equally expressed her excitement about the deal, noting that she is proud to be associated with such a premium whisky.

Johnnie Walker couldn’t have chosen better ambassadors. With Onyango’s bar experience, he will be able to take the brand to greater heights, while Desire Luzinda’s music influence and her large following will definitely go a long way to boost the local consumption of the world’s bestselling whisky.
