If you were a fan of action movies from the late 1980s and 1990s, the name Chuck Norris likely rings a bell, thanks to films like Way of the Dragon, where he starred opposite Bruce Lee in a now iconic fight scene set in the Colosseum, a moment that helped launch his Hollywood career.

Norris became one of the era’s most bankable action stars with films such as Good Guys Wear Black, A Force of One, and Lone Wolf McQuade, reaching peak popularity with the Missing in Action series, portraying a Vietnam POW on daring rescue missions, and later starring in hits such as The Delta Force and Invasion U.S.A.

The legend died on March 19 at age 86 in Hawaii, USA. Norris also found enduring success on television with Walker, Texas Ranger, playing Cordell Walker, a lawman known for blending martial arts with frontier justice, cementing his reputation as a symbol of toughness and moral clarity.

In later years, he gained a new generation of fans through internet culture as the subject of widely shared “Chuck Norris facts” memes, and he continued to make occasional film appearances, including The Expendables 2, while remaining active in fitness, writing, and public speaking.

But on March 20, his family broke the sad news of his death in an Instagram post stating,

“It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace.”

“Though our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him. The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends.”

Norris reportedly died following a medical emergency and days before his death, on his 86th birthday on March 10, Norris shared a workout video on Instagram captioned: “I don’t age. I level up,” reflecting the resilience and humour that defined his public image.

With news about his death circulating, renowned Hollywood stars started pouring out tributes honoring the fallen star.
