Singers went to social media to share their condolence messages following the news of his demise.  
Kenzo wrote: “Gone too soon my brother Danz Kumapesa. Rest in peace Brother. I’m speechless; I thought you [would] come back. R.I.P Daniel. You will always be remembered.”

His boss Frank Mugerwa aka Frank Jah posted on his Facebook timeline, “In life we only live today. About tomorrow God knows. RIP Danz Kumapeesa. Bambi Mukama amusonyiwe ebyamusobako.”

Who was Danz Kumapeesa?
Danz Kumapeesa, born Daniel Mukisa, was only 23 at the time of his death.
Raised by a single mother, Jennifer Kisakye, Kumapeesa was the last born in a family of four –two boys and two girls.

He went to Mukono Junior School, St John’s Mukono for O-level and A-level but did not complete senior six due to financial constraints.

Danz Kumapeesa branched into music production in 2013 in Banda at a friend’s studio before joining Concave in Kireka, Trinity Records in Mutungo and then J Power, before he joined Jahlive.

He had made a name as the fresh new talent on the production scene.

Artistes were flocking to Jahlive because of his musical genius and in a short time he had worked with artistes such as Bebe Cool, Winnie Nwagi, Lydia Jazmine, Irene Ntale, Fille and Eddy Kenzo, among others.

He will be remembered for chart-topping songs including Musawo (Nwagi) released early last year.

In April, his magic hands released another club banger, Mboozi Za Malwa by Bebe Cool and Kenya’s Sauti Sol.

He was also behind Winnie Nwagi’s Magic, Fille’s Nakupenda, Nkubanja by Lydia Jazmine and Yo Sweet by Rema, among others.  

Before his death, musicians including Bebe Cool collected money to cater for his mounting hospital bills. A fundraising car wash drive was also organized at Panamera, as the family struggled under the weight of the bills.

Local celebrities Juliana Kanyomozi, Bobi Wine, Nutty Neithan and Gareth Onyango, among others, all contributed to the cause that raised at least Shs 7m.
 

A charity concert was also organized but it is alleged that proceeds were misappropriated and were yet to be delivered by the time of his death.

Some people live to be 100, some like Danz, get just 23 years; but it is the strength of one’s footprint that matters and Danz Kumapeesa has left an indelible one on the music industry.
