Joint security operatives have raided the residence of outgoing speaker of parliament Anita Among in Bukedea, eastern Uganda.
A team comprising officials from the army, police, Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), Internal Security Organisation (ISO) and the State House Anti-Corruption Unit conducted a nearly four-hour search at Anita’s home in Aputiput village, Aere parish, Kamutur sub-county, as well as her mother’s residence in Apopong village, Apopong parish, Kolir sub-county.
The operation started at about 11 am and lasted until around 2:30 pm. During the search, the officers were accompanied by Anita’s legal counsel, Caleb Alaka, of Alaka and Company Advocates.
Security personnel sealed off the premises and restricted access throughout the exercise.
Media personnel were denied entry into the residences, although journalists observed sealed boxes being loaded into a police vehicle by the security team.
Among, who is currently at the centre of a growing corruption scandal, is under investigation for alleged corruption and illicit wealth accumulation during her tenure as deputy speaker and later speaker of the 11th parliament following the death of Jacob Oulanyah.
The Bukedea Woman MP has previously maintained that she is innocent of any wrongdoing. However, investigations into her financial dealings remain ongoing.
Security sources indicated that the probe is still active and may extend to properties linked to some of her close political allies within Bukedea district.
Who in his/her right state of mind can deny that: in her short term of office as Speaker, Anita Among has been doing all these under the wide watchful eyes and loud hearing of our 86-years-old PROBLEM OF AFRICA, as well as his nasty lawless PRACTICING STANDY PROBLEM OF AFRICA, Gen MK; who is now masquerading and pretending to lead the special operation on her (Among)?
Why E.G., did Gen Tibuhaburwa tell the former IGG, Hon Beti O Kamya to go slow with her LIFESTYE AUDIT? It was and still is: to enable his corruption agents to complete the construction of their criminal monuments/empires.
40 years and counting Gen Tibuhaburwa and his NRM ideology is lawlessness, serious crimes and corruption. Therefore, who in his/her right state of mind will deny that: including Gen Tibuhaburwa and his wayward son (problem of Africa); Among and others still at large, have been/are building their indelible corruption (criminal) monuments, such as; housing their mothers/relatives, building Teaching Hospitals, etc. by mixing the mortar (concrete) with the raw sweat and blood of million impoverished, illiterate sick and dying Ugandans?
