Residents attending an FDC rally

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi and party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat have urged the people of Teso to reject what they called the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) government’s “lies and empty promises” and vote for change in the January 2026 general elections.

Addressing supporters in Teso, Mafabi criticised the government for failing to fulfil its long-standing pledge to compensate residents whose cattle were lost during past insurgencies.

He accused the NRM of weaponising the compensation issue against opposition leaders, citing the recent arrests of Amuriat and two Soroti City MPs over the “No cow, no vote” campaign.

According to Mafabi, the committee set up to handle the compensation matter was merely a political ploy to keep the people of Teso in false hope and win their votes.

Time for Change

The FDC leaders said it was unrealistic for Teso to expect meaningful change from a government that has neglected the region for nearly four decades. They outlined the party’s key priorities for the 2026 elections:

Better living standards: Putting money in the pockets of ordinary Ugandans

Improved healthcare: Equipping health facilities to provide quality services

Quality education: Enhancing education systems and policies that empower citizens

Equity and empowerment: Promoting fairness and equal opportunities for all

Mafabi and Amuriat called on the people of Teso to rally behind the FDC, saying the party understands their struggles and is committed to delivering genuine transformation.

  1. In other words, from Luweero to Greater Northern Uganda and Teso (stolen cattle), 40 years and counting only the offenders/criminal and lying regime compensate for their wrongdoing.

Otherwise, why compensate for what you have not done wrong?

  2. If the citizens of Teso cannot read and understand the political script of their Teso gentleman, Mr Amuriat, they are never going to be cured of their constant poverty! It is now 21 years and counting that this political party has been in existance to reform the African dictatorship governance of NRM. So now as the people of Teso are being lectured on 40 years about rejecting empty political promises, who and when of the two political parties should resign and leave the scene before Jesus Christ comes back? The FDC with its Reform Agenda or the NRM or UPM and its Pan African Salvation political gospel?

  3. All Ugandans need is ONE National/Common Leader, who MUST call for an end to the tribalistic system Rwandese Museveni put in place to ensure Ugandans are POWERLESS, then UNITY will block & show him way out!

No one can force Ugandans to UNITE, but they should know it’s them & them alone, in UNITY, who will bring change, then put in place the kind of governance they want, without war!

As powerless tribally ruled Ugandans are preparing for next useless fake elections, Museveni MUST dissolve posts of tribal leaders as he pays them for no reason now!

But tibal leaders who consider themseves leaders MUST break away from Museveni’s Uganda & govern & serve their people on their then FREE Independent lands!

Ugandans, please, don’t let any fake opposition leader/parties lead you to next fake elections to protect & ensure Rwandese Museveni’s ownership of every tribal land, tax money, control of every institution! This is so as now Museveni has made it clear he won’t accept any opposer to stand against him & there is non defying him!

Rwandese Museveni will stay on with or without fake presidential election, so he doesn’t need the useless parliament with mps payed for doing NOTHING, but just pretend Uganda is a democracy ruled by the colonial dictator since 1986 & he should be protected with fake elections!
