Today I celebrate a remarkable woman of God, Ps Sarah Kimuli, wife to Apostle Michael Kimuli of CDMI church in Kololo and Mulawa, who slipped away quietly and suddenly last Monday.

RIP: Pastor Sarah Kimuli

I had not met her personally, but her works spoke loudly for her, especially the Hannah ministry, where she interceded for barren women until God gave them the fruit of the womb.

Started in 2019, within such a short time the ministry reportedly has 22 miracle babies here and abroad. I listened to speaker after speaker herald this jolly woman for excelling in whatever she set her mind on doing; her husband spoke about her meticulous approach to motherhood and her roles as his wife, which she performed with utmost love – she reportedly always ironed his shirt as he dressed up, to ensure he never placed a cold one on his body.

Kimuli said he was even postponing returning to their home since her death, because of how her mark was on everything, right from the gate. People testified how relentless the 56-year-old was, when it came to prayer and ministry; so, how ironical that the cause of her death was an enlarged heart, a condition she is suspected to have developed from the decades of praying while travailing/ crying.

Intercessors will understand how common it is for one’s soul to sink into groaning and weeping while praying for others. Well, that constant ‘sorrow’caused her heart to enlarge, resulting in the cardio complications that killed her.

Ap Kimuli confirmed that she often got carried away during prayer, and he told mourners that he had heard about just one other minister of God who had died of the same complication resulting from long-term tearful intercession.

The mother-of-eight certainly left me food for thought: it is true that the heart does not handle sorrow and heartbreak that well…it has its limits, so don’t overdo it.

In 2022 I witnessed a mother bury her only son of 32 years, and she cried so much we got worried.

Three weeks after his burial, she passed away quite abruptly. So, my friend, I salute you for the great intercessor you are in the body of Christ, but please also take it easy. Love hard, but laugh harder.

Rest in peace, Ps Sarah Kimuli.
