According to a letter from Fufa chief executive officer Edgar Watson, the local soccer ruling body has invited topflight club bosses to lay strategy for the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL)’s second round, which will be taking place concurrently with the Africa Cup of Nations Cup (Afcon) finals due next month in Gabon.

The federation will meet UPL club chairpersons and CEOs tomorrow, December 15 at Mandela national stadium at Namboole to plan for the competition’s second round. The league’s first round ended last Saturday.

Fufa president Moses Magogo and officials from UPL secretariat will also attend the meeting. When contacted yesterday, Fufa spokesman Ahmed Hussein confirmed the meeting.

He explained that the purpose of the meeting is to brainstorm on important aspects of the 2017/18 calendar and  fixtures, coach and player registration, match fixing, judicial procedures and club licensing status, among others.

He added that Fufa considers such meetings as one of the ways to easily discuss and resolve partinent issues affecting local football.

Uganda Cranes are participating the Afcon finals for the first time in more than three decades and Fufa needs to readjust.
