
Born in Harare, bred in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Mlalazi started pursuing his career in music in 2014. The singer and songwriter started singing at an early age when his passion for music and the gospel would shine at school assemblies and church.
“I started music when I was still a little boy, then I founded a musical ensemble called The Vine. I later ventured into a solo music career in the year 2020, and I released my debut album called ‘In The Presence I’ in 2021”, Mlalazi said.
Mlalazi has already made it into the international gospel scene with his music receiving critical acclaim as well as classic performances on several regional gospel music stages in Zambia, Nigeria, South Africa among others. He has released 8 singles and an album in 3 years scooping several awards in the process.
“Gospel music allows me to be closer to God, and I want listeners to feel his presence as well, and that’s why I am always in the studio creating music,” he added.
In 2022, Mlalazi dominated the Zimbabwe gospel chart shows and was featured on the TRACE Africa top 10. He has vowed to continue to spread the word of the Lord through music. He has released Nomakunje for 2023, featuring multiple Grammy award-winning Lady Smith Black Mambazo.
