L-R: Express FC coach Wasswa Bbosa and striker Eric Kambale display their monthly Pilsner trophies on June 14

The two beat their four fellow competitors in categories of best coach and player respectively. To win the rest in players’ category, Kambale scored eight goals only for the month of May compared to URA’s Steven Mukwala who had five on his name and Wakiso Giants’ Vianne Ssekajugo who scored six.

Basing on those statistics, the organizers and online voters saw Kambale fitting to take May gong accompanied with a cash prize of one million shillings.

Wasswa Bbosa, the Red Eagles tactician, beat his fellow coaches in Douglas Bamweyana of Wakiso Giants and Sam Ssimbwa of Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club to lift the accolade.

In his guidance, Express moved two places in the month of May, from third to top position, accompanied with five wins in six fixtures.

“Winning along with my player is something beautiful, for Kambale, it is very good for his future, he is a Ugandan young player who is promising to have a great future, and this will push him to work even harder to get back to this place for another award,” Wasswa Bbosa said after receiving the accolade at the event held on June 14 at Kati Kati restaurant, Lugogo.

Before receiving this accolade, late last week, Africa Soccer Zone ranked Bbosa among the best 15 club coaches in Africa this year so far.
